The Nonverbal Communication Course: Active Engagement in the Classroom and Online

Abstract


This undergraduate course introduces students to the various dimensions of nonverbal communication in human interaction. Although students who enroll in the course are often Communication Studies majors or minors, many others take the course because of its relevance to countless occupations. Likewise, students learn about the significance of nonverbal communication in personal relationships. I take a social constructivist approach in the design and delivery of this hybrid course. Students are expected to be actively engaged during classroom and online activities.
