“Marxism and American Culture” is an American Studies course designed to introduce lower-division students to the key academic analytical and writing skills in an interdisciplinary context, as well as cultivate an understanding of the various ways Marxism has been present in American culture. It was first taught in the department of American Studies at a major research university in the American Southwest. It met three times a week in 50-minute sessions. Enrollment was capped at twenty-three students.
